I have just created this blog to share my adventures with anyone who is curious about what I am doing this summer. I am a bit apprehensive about starting a blog because those of you who have traveled through parts of Africa know how reliable the internet is. But, I think this will help encourage me to 1) write more 2) reflect more and 3) have a more detailed account of my time in South Africa. I am going into this experience with an open mind and not too many expectations. I would say no expectations, but that wouldn't be the complete truth. I am so ready to be back in a communal culture and to do some "deep hanging out" for awhile. And from what I have heard, the crafts will be amazing! I am bringing an extra duffle bag just in case. Here are some pics of recycled artwork I found online. The bowls are made from old telephone wire.
I totally have one of those radios...though it's made with Windhoek beer bottles. Have a fabulous time. Love the blog. Hugs!!-- Erin B.
